* The chapter had always organized large in-person donor events each year — but now that was all out of the question! *
It was March 2021 and Covid was still a frightening reality.
Most businesses had already transitioned to work-from-home and everyone was trying not to venture out unless absolutely necessary.
I received a call from a woman who had found me via Google and was delighted that I specialize in Kosher food. (She had not been referred to me or seen me on any social media so, of course, I was super happy and nominated Google my best friend 😊)
THE GIFT CHALLENGE
The woman’s chapter of Jewish Federation that she ran had always organized large in-person donor events each year, but now that was all out of the question!
She found herself needing to plan a virtual event that was compelling enough for the donors to be interested in joining via Zoom.
In lieu of the grand catered affair and lavish ceremonies that were usually held, they were hoping to send all donors a beautiful gift box with a special keepsake gift and filled with treats which they would all enjoy together via Zoom. The Kosher treats were an important part of the gift.
We jumped right in!
THE DETAILS
First I asked lots of questions about her participants and the reason they all appreciated donating their money to this specific cause.
The cause was LIFE & LEGACY, an endowment program designed to help create permanent legacy gifts, demonstrating the belief in the continuity of Jewish life for generations to come. The program helps individuals and families create ongoing support for the Jewish causes they care about.
THE GIFT
Poignantly, the gift we presented was a hand-made Scented Candle with Custom Printed Label. As Covid was still raging, the candle was especially significant. In Jewish tradition, a candle is lit upon the death and anniversary of a death of a loved one and also represents the unique Jewish Soul.
A flame can never be diminished when it gives fire from itself to light another wick – representing the legacy donation that will be forever carried on even beyond a person’s decease from this world, alighting one soul to the next. The icon of a flame in the logo was the impetus for this idea.
We also included a beautiful gold & black box of pretty, white-tipped matches in a velvet bag and, of course! the scrumptious gourmet treats.
Each person attending the event received the gift about a week prior and were told to wait until the event started before opening. They each lit the candle and enjoyed the treats together as they watched the digital performance, creating a warm camaraderie even miles apart.
PRESENTATION
It was important for the donors to feel cherished and appreciated, so we chose elegant black and gold as the upscale color theme and incorporated the branding color of Bright Blue with a beautiful, satin ribbon. Printed Labels and a heartfelt Message Card added the finishing, custom touches!
RESULTS
The feedback from this gift was SO gratifying.
We shipped over 200 of these gifts immediately after Pesach/Passover (part of the fun! 😅) and were absolutely delighted to hear the excellent, raving reviews about the delicious treats and thoughtful gift.
Their first Online Event was a huge SUCCESS!
